Once we got bored with the mountains, we decided to visit the Patton Memorial Museum, located at Chiriaco Summit, which is east of Indio.  It's located at one of the camps Patton used to train the Third Corps during WWII.  It isn't huge, but has some interesting things and a fun collection of tanks.
